Terms and Conditions

1. The Promoters

1. The competition promoters are:
   1. LW Entertainment Limited, registered in England with its principal office at 6 Catherine Street, London, WC2B 5JY;
   2. Michael Harrison Entertainment Limited, registered in England with its principal office 1st Floor, 6 Kean Street, London, England, WC2B 4AS; and
   3. Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals Limited registered in England with its principal office 1st Floor, 6 Kean Street, London, England, WC2B 4AS (the “Promoters”).

2. The Competition

1. The Promoters are running an “I AM THE STARLIGHT” competition, inviting school groups to submit a video of their pupils performing a section of the iconic song “Starlight Express”, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Richard Stilgoe (the “Competition”).
2. The Competition is open to primary and secondary schools of the United Kingdom (excluding anyone closely connected with the Promoters, the “Starlight Express” production, or the administration or organisation of the Competition).
3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter the Competition.
4. By entering the Competition, you are indicating your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3. How to Enter

1. The Competition will run from 13 November 2025 (the “Opening Date”) to 5pm (BST) on 30 January 2026 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive. All Competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
2. To enter the Competition:
   1. you must fill out the enquiry form (https://connect.theschooltrip.co.uk/i-am-the-starlight-pack-request) and confirm your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
   2. Once you have completed the enquiry form, confirmed your interest and accepted the Terms and Conditions, you will be provided with details of where and how to download the official song materials (sheet music, lyric sheet and an MP4 instrumental backing track) (the “Competition Materials”) and upload your video entries. Please note that the Competition Materials are made available for your use in the Competition only and may not be used for any other purposes. The first schools to register interest will also have the opportunity to receive a free poster pack, including: “I Am the Starlight” posters (to promote your school’s performance within your school) and stickers for your young stars. Poster and sticker packs will be sent on a first come, first served basis, and are subject to availability (whilst stocks last). Poster packs will be sent (whilst stocks last) to the school address provided when registering your interest, so please ensure that the address is correct.
   3. You must then record a video of your school group performing a section from the official “Starlight Express” song and upload the video to the specified upload platform, in accordance with instructions provided and terms and conditions herein.
3. Entries must be submitted by a school representative who is over the age of eighteen (18) and has appropriate authority from the school and appropriate consents from the relevant parents/guardians of each pupil (child) included in the video entry.
4. There are two (2) categories of Competition entry:
   1. Primary Age (ages 5–11); and
   2. Secondary Age (ages 11–16).
5. Only one (1) video entry per age group, per school, is allowed. Each video entry can include up to a maximum of thirty (30) pupils. Please note that the Prize package for the winners includes a total of thirty (30) tickets for people to attend the show (this includes pupils and any chaperones/teachers) (please see section 6 of the Terms and Conditions below), so please take this into consideration when deciding how many pupils participate in your video.
6. Upload your completed video (in landscape and in MP4 format) to either the primary or secondary school group secure link (as applicable).
7. You shall be solely responsible for all costs incurred in relation to your Competition entry. For the avoidance of any doubt, the Promoters shall not be obliged to reimburse you for any costs and/or expenses incurred for any reason whatsoever.
8. Entries must not be published in other ways, including they must not be uploaded to any other internet platform (e.g., social media or video sharing sites). Any entries published in other ways will be automatically void and will not be considered.

4. Competition Entries

1. For a Competition entry to be valid, it must:
   1. be in accordance with the instructions and terms and conditions herein;
   2. include either Primary (i.e., ages 5–11) OR Secondary (i.e., ages 11–16) aged pupils;
   3. include a maximum of thirty (30) children in the video;
   4. include a short introduction in the video naming your school and age group prior to performing the song. Please do not identify any of the individuals performing;
   5. be entirely original to your school, except that you are expected to use the Competition Materials (i.e., official lyrics and official instrumental backing track, without alteration);
   6. uploaded in landscape format;
   7. uploaded in MP4 format; and
   8. uploaded with the MP4 file named with your school’s name.
2. Competition entries must NOT include:
   1. footage from your school’s rehearsals or any other footage of the pupils (children);
   2. any personally identifiable information (including, for example, the names or contact details of any of the children appearing in the videos);
   3. any protected third-party intellectual property (e.g., imagery, artwork, brand names, logos, trade marks, recordings, music, video, photography or other material). This includes avoiding wearing obviously branded clothing and featuring backdrops containing third-party artwork (e.g., posters for third party brands);
   4. anything which is defamatory, hateful, harmful, offensive, obscene, discriminatory or unlawful; or
   5. any promotional, advertising or commercial content, including anything intended to promote goods or services or commercial, political or other interests.
3. Competition entries will be judged on the following criteria:
   1. Vocal Technique;
   2. Musicality;
   3. Stage Presence;
   4. Expression & Interpretation.

5. Parental/Guardian Consent

1. By submitting an entry to the Competition, you confirm that you have obtained appropriate verifiable consent from everyone appearing in the video submitted, including verifiable parental or legal guardian consent for each child appearing in the video. This includes consent for the child’s image, voice, and performance to be recorded, used, stored, and publicly shared by the Promoters for the purposes of administering the Competition, and related publicity, including publication on websites, social media, and in other media.
2. Consent must cover the recording, submission, processing, and potential public sharing of the video for the purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions and any subsequent recording, processing and potential public sharing of content captured of any winners participating in the Prize experience.
3. The winners will be deemed to have agreed to being photographed, filmed and otherwise recorded whilst participating in the Prize experience by the Promoters and/or their partners. The parents/guardians of the winners will be required to sign additional consent forms on behalf of their child/ward allowing the Promoters and their partners to use such content for post competition publicity.
4. Please note that members of the public may also be present in the audience, when the winners perform live on stage as part of their prize experience and that winners may appear in content (including, photographs, videos and other recordings), which may end up being distributed publicly.
5. The Promoters reserve the right to request evidence of consent at any time and to seek additional consents.

6. The Prize

1. The winners (up to a maximum of thirty (30) individuals, including both the pupils who performed in the video and their chaperones/members of staff) will be invited to attend a public performance of the musical “Starlight Express” (the “Musical”) at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, London (the “Theatre”) on Thursday 26 March 2026 and then have the opportunity to perform the song “Starlight Express” live on a professional stage at the Theatre after the Musical has finished (the “Prize”).
2. A maximum of thirty (30) people from each winner group will be able to perform on stage at the Theatre after the performance of “Starlight Express”. This number includes pupils, plus any chaperones that may need to accompany them onto stage.
3. The Prize package consists of:
   1. Thirty (30) tickets to watch the musical “Starlight Express” on Thursday 26 March 2026 at the Theatre. The performance of “Starlight Express” is scheduled to begin at 13:00pm. Winners are expected to arrive at the Theatre at least one (1) hour before the start of the scheduled performance (i.e., by 12:00pm);
   2. the opportunity for up to thirty (30) individuals (including, pupils and any required chaperones) to perform the “Starlight Express” song live on stage after the Musical on Thursday 26 March 2026 at the Theatre. The post show performance on stage by the winners is expected to take place at around 15:30pm and last for around thirty (30) minutes. Approximate finish time around 16:00pm; and
   3. the reasonable evidenced costs of coach transport from the winner’s school to the Theatre to watch the Musical and perform, and then back to their school on the day of the performance, Thursday 26 March 2026. Such reasonable costs of coach transport shall be up to a maximum of three thousand pounds sterling (£3,000GBP) and any transport costs over this sum shall be the responsibility of the winners. Winners will be required to make the necessary transport arrangements and provide appropriate evidence of their costs to the Promoters. Winners will need to arrive at the Theatre by 12:00pm on Thursday 26 March 2026 and will finish at approximately 16:00pm.
4. The Prize excludes all other costs and expenses not expressly outlined in provision 6.c. above. All other costs and expenses that may be incurred by the winners in connection with the Prize, including in relation to any other goods or services (for example, food, drinks, insurance, and accommodation) shall be the sole responsibility of the winners and not the Promoters.
5. Ticket allocation is subject to the Promoters’ discretion.
6. Tickets are only valid for the date of the Prize (i.e., Thursday 26 March 2026) and cannot be exchanged for any other dates, and entrants must ensure they are available to attend on this date. If the selected winner is unable to attend on this date or decides for whatever reason not to take up the Prize (or part thereof), the Promoters reserve the right to award the Prize to the next best entrant or to otherwise dispose of the Prize at their own discretion but are not obliged to do so. In such a case, the Promoters reserve the right to ask a winner who turns down the Prize (or part thereof) to confirm this to the Promoters in writing.
7. Tickets are non-transferable and must not be resold or transferred to any person or entity for commercial gain or otherwise. If any tickets are resold or transferred (or are attempted to be resold or transferred) by anyone other than official resellers of the Promoters, then the tickets will become void and the ticket holder will be a trespasser and may be refused entry to, or ejected from, the theatre.
8. The Prize cannot be exchanged for cash or any other product or service.
9. The Prize is being provided and fulfilled by Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals Limited, 1st Floor 6 Kean Street, London, England, WC2B 4AS.

7. Judging and Winner Announcement

1. The entries will be judged by a panel, including members of the production of the Musical (or such other person(s) as the Promoters may elect at their sole discretion), (the “Judges”). Winners will be notified by 13 February 2026.
2. One winner will be selected from each category (Primary and Secondary) and notified by the Promoters. Winners will be notified by email from schools@starlightexpress.com.
3. Competition entries will be judged on the following criteria:
   1. Vocal Technique;
   2. Musicality;
   3. Stage Presence; and
   4. Expression & Interpretation.
4. In the event that:
   1. the winner’s entry is found to be in breach of the terms and conditions herein; or
   2. the winner is unable to attend the Musical on Thursday 26 March 2026; or
   3. the Promoters are unable to contact the winner, after reasonable attempts have been made;
   the Promoters reserve the right to award the Prize to the next best entrant or otherwise dispose of the Prize at their discretion, but are not obliged to do so.
5. The decision of the Judges will be final. No entrant will have the right to challenge the verdict, and neither the Judges nor the Promoters will be required to engage in any conversation or explanation regarding their decision.

8. Ownership of Competition Entries and Intellectual Property Rights

1. The copyright in the original video recordings remains with you, the entrant, save to the extent detailed herein. You warrant, agree and undertake that you have no right, title or interest in any Competition Materials, musical composition or lyrics or arrangement (or any portion thereof) or in any other intellectual property owned or controlled by the Promoters reproduced in any entry (together and individually, the “Starlight Express IP”), and that you shall not assert or permit to be asserted any claim to any right, title or interest in any such Starlight Express IP (or any portion thereof).
2. You grant the Promoters a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, edit, modify, and exploit the video (in whole or in part and alone or in combination with other content) in connection with the competition and promotional activity, in any media (including digital, social media or broadcast) without having to give you (including, anyone involved in the making of the video) any compensation or attribution. So far as is permitted by law, you waive all "moral rights” now or hereafter recognized in connection with your entry.
3. You confirm that the entry (including, any video) complies with the terms and conditions herein and does not infringe the rights of any third party.
4. Please note that any review or use of the video submitted should not be construed as a recognition of the originality of such content. You acknowledge and understand that the Promoters may already have in development or under consideration activities which are related to the content of any video entry you submit.
5. Please retain copies of any video you submit, as the Promoters are under no obligation to return any videos to you.

9. Data Protection and Publicity

1. By entering the Competition, you also confirm that you have informed parents or guardians of how their child’s personal data will be used, in accordance with the Promoters’ privacy policies and the terms and conditions herein.
2. All personal data submitted will be processed and stored securely, in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Data will only be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
3. Submitted personal data will be securely stored and used for the purposes of administering and promoting the Competition, including but not limited to:
   1. Sending resource packs, poster packs and other information about the Competition;
   2. Judging the entries;
   3. Announcing and publicising winners; and
   4. Featuring a selection of shortlisted videos in any media, including on the Promoters’ platforms, websites and social media channels.
4. Personal data will only be used for marketing purposes if you are separately given the choice and you have separately consented to receive future marketing from the Promoters.

10. General

1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, the Promoters may, in their sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the Competition.
2. The Promoters take no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
3. To the furthest extent permitted by applicable law, the Promoters and any other organisation associated with the Competition accept no liability for any loss or damage resulting from your participation in the Competition, including arising from any winners accepting or participating in the Prize. This includes, but is not limited to, any loss of enjoyment, costs, delays, damage, harms or other losses of any nature whatsoever arising out of or in connection with the Competition. For the avoidance of doubt, your consumer rights are unaffected, and nothing herein is intended to limit liability for: (i) death or personal injury arising from negligence; (ii) fraud; or (iii) any other cause of action which cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
4. The Promoters reserve the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside of their control. This includes reserving the right to change the Prize. If the Promoters are unable to award the originally advertised Prize due to reasons outside of their control, the Promoters will make all efforts to provide a reasonable alternative equivalent prize. The decision of the Promoters in all matters under their control is final and binding.
5. Interpretation: For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, any words following the terms “including”, “include”, “in particular”, “for example” or any similar expression shall be interpreted as illustrative and shall not limit the sense of the words preceding those terms.
6. In case any one or more of the provisions contained in these Terms and Conditions shall be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any respect, the validity, legality, and enforceability of the remaining provisions contained herein shall not in any way be affected or impaired thereby.
7. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales, the courts of which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
